Oakdale area voters will go the polls Tuesday, Nov. 2 to pick candidates for local, state, and federal offices.

Locally, voters will select three individuals for four-year terms on the Oak Valley Hospital District Board of Directors and also a replacement for the final two years of a board seat vacated earlier this year.

Running for the four-year seat are incumbents Belinda Abell, Dr. Ed Chock and Robert Wikoff, as well as former Oakdale Joint Unified School District Superintendent Wendell Chun and Oakdale Fire Captain Dan Cummins. Cummins is currently serving as a board member, appointed this summer to the vacant seat until the November election.

Former board member Paul Westberg and former OVHD employee Louise Pooley Sanders are vying for the remaining term of the vacated two-year seat.

There are two seats available on the Oakdale City Council. Current council member Michael Brennan is running for reelection, while Bill Camp, Jason Howard, John Kanno, and current city treasurer Michael Murray are also campaigning.

Oakdale Mayor Farrell Jackson is running for reelection, challenged for a second consecutive election by former council member and county supervisor Pat Paul.

Polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
