December Features Plenty Of Fun At Oakdale Library
O Lib
There will be plenty of events offered throughout October at the Oakdale Library.

Preschool Story Time and Wiggle Worms will be off-session in December and resume in January, 2020. The first week of December, however, kicks off a busy month at the library and will be filled with winter fun.

Our Wee Move and Play program, featuring unstructured imaginative play for little ones, 5 and under, will be Monday, Dec. 2 at 11 a.m. Parents can help their children learn social skills and have fun at the same time.

Join us on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. to make a “Selfie Elf!” to place on your shelf. Bring a little photo of yourself (or we will take one for you), add a unique body with “pipe cleaners,” and more, and create a festive friend just for you. We have everything you will need to make this for “yourselfie!”

“Music First” presents A Medieval Holiday Performance. Join us on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 3 p.m., for this interactive Family Program of Music and Learning. Enjoy instrumental and choral favorites in this informative presentation.

We will have two “Brick/Block Building Days” this month. Kids can create their own masterpieces using our fabulous assortment of “building materials” and we will display these great works in the Library. Bring your creativity and imagination and join us at 3 p.m., on Thursdays, Dec. 12 and 26.

Festive fun will continue in our second “Children’s Craft” for the month. Children are invited to create a “Light-Up” Snowman Ornament ideal for hanging or gifting. We will have all the items necessary for making this guy “shine” in your own unique way. Come join the fun on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 3 p.m.

And, all week, Dec. 16-21, don’t forget to “Find the Missing Reindeer Antlers” hidden in the Children’s Library, and get a small prize. Those antlers will be moving around daily, so don’t give up. Our reindeer needs them back!

Please bring your little ones for some Toddler/Preschool Dance Fun on Monday, Dec. 23 at 11 a.m. We’ll be “rockin’ out” to some of our favorite Story Time music as well as trying the Twist, a limbo dance, or perhaps a “Jingle Bell Rock!”

Speaking of “rocks”, join us on Monday, Dec. 30 for “drop-in” fun with Rock Painting. Come by the Library between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to select your rock and make your own personal colorful statement to end the year with a memory painted on stone! Everything will be provided, just bring your ideas.
