County Projects Outlined In Series Of Meetings
Stan County

The Stanislaus Council of Governments, StanCOG, is serving as the lead agency for preparing an Environmental Impact Report for the 2018 Regional Transportation Plan and a Sustainable Communities Strategy. The project will address all transportation modes including motor vehicles, transit (commuter and local), rail, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, aviation systems, goods movement by rail and freight, and more. To aid in preparing the project, StanCOG has scheduled an EIR Scoping Meeting to get input on the scope and content of the environmental analysis that will be included in the draft EIR. Those interested are encouraged to attend the scoping session, set for Wednesday, Jan. 10 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Stanislaus Council of Governments office, 1111 I St., Modesto.

The project will include the cities of Ceres, Hughson, Modesto, Newman, Oakdale, Patterson, Riverbank, Turlock and Waterford in addition to all unincorporated areas under the jurisdiction of Stanislaus County.

Meanwhile, a Public Hearing for the Stanislaus County Parks Master Plan will be hosted in Oakdale later this month.

The county’s Department of Parks and Recreation along with O’Dell Engineering will be hosting Public Meetings to review the draft of the 20-year Park’s Master Plan. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, which will lay out the future of parks for Stanislaus County. The plan is also available for review on the internet at the Stanislaus County website and on social media: http://www.stancounty.com/parks; https://www.facebook.com/stancountyparks.

The meeting in Oakdale is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. at the Gene Bianchi Community Center, 110 S. Second Ave., and is designed for residents in the county’s District 1 supervisorial area, which includes Oakdale, Knights Ferry, Valley Home and Riverbank.
