County Education Office Hosts Manufacturing Workshop

The Stanislaus County Office of Education is hosting the Stanislaus County Area Manufacturing Maintenance Joint Apprenticeship Program Workshop on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 12 and 13, at the Stanislaus Industrial Technology Institute at 635 Walnut Ave., Patterson.

The workshop will include four breakout sessions on Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:45 p.m., and two sessions on Saturday (8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.). Students from the Stanislaus Industrial Technology Institute will shadow the presenters and participate in the hands-on activities. Workshop sessions include: Belts and Belt Lacing, Conveyors, Motors, Gear Boxes, and Vibration Analysis.

According to Superintendent Tom Changnon, this workshop is designed to help increase student awareness of the Apprenticeship Program.

“Students attending the hands-on workshop will have a unique opportunity to learn about the partnership with the Stanislaus County Area Manufacturing Maintenance Joint Apprenticeship Program and hear from experts in each classification relating to maintenance,” said Changnon.

Participating businesses of the Apprentice Workshop include: Blue Diamond Growers, Carpenter Company, Del Monte, Sconza Candy Company, and Stanislaus Alliance WorkNet.
