Council Hears Reports
Oakdale Flag

A number of staff reports took up the bulk of the meeting time for Oakdale City Council members at their recent session, dealing with items from the upcoming Old-Fashioned Christmas to street lights.

On the consent agenda was the cancellation of the Tuesday, Jan. 2 regular City Council meeting and a second reading of Ordinance 1251, regarding medical marijuana dispensaries.

Under staff reports, the council reviewed co-sponsoring the downtown holiday event, scheduled for this Saturday, Dec. 2 and authorized City Manager Bryan Whitemyer to execute an agreement with PG&E to update street lights within the city. The council also provided direction to city staff to work with the Acting Fire Chief and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Apparatus Committee to finalize a contract for a new Type 1 fire engine, designed to replace aging equipment within the existing fleet. The contract would be with Hi-Tech EVS.

The council is next scheduled to meet on Monday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 277 N. Second Ave., Oakdale.
