Accordion Club Meet

Good Time Accordion Club will host its next music and social event on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Escalon Community Center, 1055 Escalon Ave., Escalon. Women’s Connection

Oakdale Women’s Connection will host its monthly luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 12 from noon to 1:30 p.m. The event will be held at Papapolloni Mediterranean Bistro, 1214 W. F St., Oakdale. Buffet lunch is $18. Former teacher, Robby Kutz will speak on letting go of fear. Marlese Roton will present the “Art and Culture of Hawaii.” Reservations and walk-ins are welcome. Library Events

The Oakdale Library will have a Tween/Teen/Adult Craft at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11. Join in as colorful duct tape is turned into bookmarks, wallets, or anything you can imagine. “Children’s Craft” day will be Thursday, Oct. 12, at 3:30 p.m. Make a “sweet” ghost, using a lollipop and coffee filter. Children can also try to guess what’s in the Mystery Box. How does it feel? What could it be? Also, the Wee Move And Play program, featuring unstructured imaginative play for little ones, 5 and under, will be Monday, Oct. 16, at 11 a.m. Parents can help their children learn social skills and have fun at the same time.

 

Field Trip Set

The Oakdale Garden Club announces that on Tuesday, Oct. 17, it will be holding its first Fall Field Trip to Lorina’s Edible Gardens in Escalon. Those interested in joining the group are asked to meet at the Oakdale City Parking lot at South Yosemite Avenue and East G Street, adjacent to Wood Park by 10:15 a.m. which will allow for travel time to the Escalon location, which is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. At the tour’s conclusion, participants can meet for lunch on their own at a local restaurant. Fall Art Show

Oak Valley Art Society is planning its annual Fall Art Show at the Escalon Library on Second Street, Escalon, on Saturday, Oct. 21 and Sunday, Oct. 22. Show hours Saturday are noon to 5 p.m.; Sunday hours are noon to 3 p.m. A reception with the artists, including refreshments and awards is scheduled on Sunday, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

It is a member show, but anyone interested in joining the Oak Valley Art Society may call Evelyn Cooper at 209 838-3095. A variety of art work, in multiple mediums, and also including photography, will be on display. All are welcome; no fee to attend.

 

Class Reunion Set

Oakdale High School Class of ’57 will host its 60th Class Reunion on Saturday, Oct. 21. The event will be hosted at Oakdale Golf and Country Club, 243 N. Stearns Road, Oakdale. Happy hour begins at 1 p.m. and a buffet lunch offered at 2 p.m. Menu to include salad bar, bread, and a choice of Chicken Piccata or Tri-tip entrée, as well as dessert. Price is $30 per person. Young Eagles Day

 

The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) will host its annual Young Eagles Event on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be hosted at Oakdale Airport, 8189 Laughlin Road, Oakdale.
