Garden Club Meeting

The next meeting of the Escalon Farmington Community Garden Club is set for Thursday, March 3. Scheduled for a 1 p.m. start, the meeting will be hosted at the Farmington United Methodist Church, 25626 Elm St., Farmington. Speaker will be Lee Miller and his presentation will be ‘Dahlia: Most Elegant Flower.’ All those interested are encouraged to attend; the club welcomes new members and visitors. The guest speaker will lead off the program at 1 p.m., followed by the club’s general meeting following the presentation. A door prize will be awarded to someone just for attending and snacks are provided.

 

Craft Vendors Sought

A Spring Craft Fair is being planned at the North Modesto Church of God, 1918 Sherwood Ave., Modesto, for Saturday, March 19 as a fundraiser for the 2022 Relay For Life. Those wishing to purchase booth space can get a 10-by-10 booth for $40 and are asked to provide a prize for drawings; proceeds from the booth fees and ticket sales for drawings are split between the American Cancer Society and the North Modesto Church of God.

Spaghetti Dinner

Knights Ferry Community Club is putting on its annual Spaghetti Diner, scheduled for Saturday, March 12 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Club House, Main Street, Knights Ferry. Dinner incudes spaghetti, salad, roll and dessert; let them do the cooking, come dine in or drive up and take it to go. Tickets are $10 each. Widowed Persons Gather

Oakdale Widowed Persons Group invites you to join them the first Saturday of each month for breakfast at 9 a.m. and on the third Tuesday of each month for lunch at 1 p.m.; call for locations. All are welcome to join the group no matter how long ago you lost your spouse. For more information, contact Barbara at (209)-322-2184.

 

Weekly Dances

Check out the Golden Agers at the Riverbank Community Center on Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with dancing, socializing, live music and fun for all. All adults 55-plus are welcome. Weight Loss Group

All interested are welcome to join TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) a weight support group that meets in Oakdale every Monday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Community United Methodist Church on Poplar. This group is open to the public and anyone interested in improving their life by losing weight can contact Audrey for more information, call 209-765-7838.
