Women’s Club Luncheon

Annual Motor Madness

Soroptimist International of Oakdale will host its annual Motor Madness event on Saturday, March 25 beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event will be hosted at Gene Bianchi Community Center, 110 S. Second Ave., Oakdale. Beer, wine, soft drinks and appetizers will be served for those in attendance. A total of 400 tickets will be offered for $100 each, which includes an opportunity to win a Harley Davidson Motorcycle or a cash prize of $10,000. Relay Meeting Thursday

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Oakdale and Riverbank invites team captains to the team captain meeting on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 6:45 p.m., at Oak Valley Medical Plaza, 1425 W. H St., Oakdale. The monthly meeting provides event updates and allows team captains to interact with the event leadership team, share their fundraising progress and successes, ask questions, learn how the community benefits from funds raised, and learn how cancer survivors and caregivers will be honored. The Oakdale and Riverbank Relay will be hosted at Oakdale High School on Saturday, May 6.

 

Black Oak Bus Trip

On Thursday, March 9 at 8:45 a.m., a Storer bus will leave from the SaveMart parking lot on East F Street to take Oakdale Women’s Club members and interested residents to have a day of fun at Black Oak Casino. Ticket cost is $25; there is a 40 person limit, and tickets are first come, first served. Deadline for public reservations is Thursday, March 2 and club members’ deadline is Tuesday, March 7. Peddlers Faire Set

Knights Ferry History Museum and Associates have joined with the Army Corps of Engineers to host the 27th Annual Gold Country Peddlers Faire on Sunday, April 23. The event will be hosted at the Stanislaus River Park, on Covered Bridge Road, Knights Ferry, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A large selection of antiques, handmade crafts and art, as well as food booths will be on hand. Guitar Workshop Offered

On Saturday, Feb. 18 an Acoustic Guitar Workshop will be hosted from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at The Venue at Big Valley Grace Community Church, 4040 Tully Road, Modesto. Acoustic guitar players of all ages and skill levels will pick up some useful tips and secrets in this workshop. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Speechtrain Session

Riverbank welcomes the REO Speechtrain Toastmasters Club for regular meetings every Wednesday morning, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., at Perko’s Cafe, Patterson and Oakdale roads, Riverbank. This is a fun way to learn the self-confidence and skills needed for public speaking. All are invited to come and check out the group. The next meeting will be Wednesday, Feb. 22. Film Fundraiser Slated

Get your tickets early for the upcoming Film ‘Fun’ Raiser for DKG Epsilon Nu Chapter. The event is scheduled for April 27 at the State Theatre, 1307 J St., downtown Modesto. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. on film day for wine, appetizers and raffle drawings. The movie ‘Some Like It Hot’ will be shown starting at 7 p.m.
