Classic Cars Displayed

Join the fun, enjoy viewing some classic cars and then dine on a spaghetti dinner, with the event set for Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Oakdale Community United Methodist Church, 1480 Poplar, Oakdale. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Butler are hosting the event, with the car show from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. with the spaghetti dinner to follow. All in the community are welcome to attend. Block Party Slated

Center for Human Services, Oakdale will host its Sixth Annual Community Block Party on Friday, Oct. 7 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event will be include fun for the whole family including free food, music, face painting a photo booth and giveaways. Toastmasters Meet Weekly

Riverbank welcomes the REO Speechtrain Toastmasters Club for regular meetings every Wednesday morning, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., at Perko’s Cafe, Patterson and Oakdale roads, Riverbank. This is a fun way to learn the self-confidence and skills needed for public speaking. All are invited to come and check out the group. The next meeting will be Wednesday, Sept. 28. Artists Plan Show

Oak Valley Art Society is getting prepared for its annual Fall Art Show on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 15 and 16, to be staged at the Escalon Library. It is a member-only show, but the art society is gladly taking new members. Mediums are Oil, Acrylic, Water Media, Drawing, Pastels, Graphics, Photography, and Sculpture. Enjoy Potato Fest

 

The City of Livingston will host its Fifth Annual Sweet Potato Festival to celebrate the sweet potato harvest on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1 and 2 at the Max Foster Sports Complex, 2600 Walnut Ave., in Livingston. The event will host a huge carnival, live entertainment, a kids zone, food vendors, business booths, lots of sweet potato dishes, contests and “Sweet Potato Education” and a farmers market.
