Chamber To Offer Mobile Web Class

In 2012, it is simply not enough to be on the Internet; preparing and handling the ongoing shift of consumer behavior to mobile Internet usage is no longer an option, but a necessity. Recent research shows that 48 percent of adults now own a smart phone capable of browsing the Internet. Of those people, 79 percent have engaged in shopping related activities on their mobile device.

To help businesses prepare, The Oakdale Chamber of Commerce has added a new benefit for its members that helps prepare them for the mobile web.

“We think it's important for business owners to understand how users are now finding and interacting with businesses,” said Justin Ribeiro, vice president of Economic Development for the Oakdale Chamber. “Ignoring the mobile Internet habits of your potential customers is no longer an option.”

Join the Oakdale Chamber at their event ‘Embrace the Mobile Web’ on Aug. 15, 5 p.m. at 229 N. Third Ave. Oakdale in the launch of a new program for all Oakdale Chamber members. If you are not a member of the Oakdale Chamber, please join us to learn about the program and other benefits of Chamber membership.

Space to this event is limited. Please call 209-847-2244 to RSVP.
