The Gene Bianchi Community Center was the place to be on Thursday, Oct. 3 when the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce hosted its second Grow Your Business Expo.
The event, open to the public, showcased a variety of products and services including automotive, banking, food, furniture, insurance, legal services, security, technology, and more at one location.
“It’s a great way for exposure for local businesses,” said Chamber of Commerce CEO Mary Guardiola. “We’re expecting a great turnout this year. Last year we unknowingly competed with the World Series.”
Last year’s event was held on Oct. 25, the same date as Game 2, featuring the local San Francisco Giants.
Sean Lofton of Oakdale represented Comcast at its booth.
“We’ve met some good folks so far,” said Lofton. “It’s our first year. The chamber does a good job promoting local businesses.”
“This has been good for us today,” added Karolle Seeger of Seeger’s Printing. “I’m looking forward to a few opportunities to quote some business.”
The Grow Your Business Expo event keeps in line with the chamber of commerce’s mission of uniting the business community by enhancing business and economic growth, while maintaining the high quality of life in Oakdale. The show offers an opportunity for all types of Oakdale businesses to be able to participate in a trade show.
Guardiola said 25 businesses were present at this year’s expo sponsored in part by The Oakdale Leader and Valley First Credit Union.
“Many of the businesses commented that they got quality leads and appointments,” Guardiola said. “This event is designed to increase local business and from the wide range of Oakdale chamber members that participated, we accomplished that this year. This is another value benefit of being an Oakdale Chamber of Commerce member.”
