Central Valley Con returns for its second year at the Modesto Centre Plaza and Doubletree Hotel in downtown Modesto on Sunday, Dec. 4. The one day pop culture convention will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is the third city in the StocktonCon Events list of events, in addition to Stockton and Lodi. (Grape City Con). Ticket prices for the one-day event are $8 at the door and $5 (plus convenience fees), at select locations around the Central Valley. A portion of the proceeds from the Central Valley Con will benefit the Modesto Gospel Mission.

A great list of professional comic artists and writers will highlight Artist Alley at the Central Valley Con, including several artists that have worked with Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Image Comics, IDW, Archie Comics and Dark Horse Comics.

The event will feature well over 100 exhibitors and artists, with more than 30,000 square feet of exhibitors, artists and gaming. The Chase Chevrolet Costume Contest will be a part of the event, with cash prizes to the best costumes. There will be card gaming from Brackets Gaming and video game free play provided by Once Upon a Video Game and video game tournaments from Terra Shock Gaming. The mission of StocktonCon, Grape City Con and the Central Valley Con is to raise awareness of outstanding artists in the San Joaquin Valley area – and to give attendees the chance to experience Popular Culture (Comics, Card Games, Video Games, Cards, Anime, Manga, Science Fiction, Toys, Television and Movies). Pro Wrestling Bushido will also be in action for a full hour at 10 a.m. and with other matches throughout the day.
