Cemetery Work Day In The Ferry
Knights Ferry

Volunteers are being sought to help ‘Jazz Up’ the cemetery in Knights Ferry.

A work day has been scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and all volunteers are welcome and appreciated. The clean-up is being sponsored by the Knights Ferry Cemetery Board, Knights Ferry Masonic Lodge, the Odd Fellows Hall, the seventh and eighth grades at Knights Ferry school, Ohe Sand and Gravel, Modesto Cornerstone Monument and Patty Muniain.

Bring your décor, flowers, bark, rock, and your gardening tools to help with the clean-up effort.

Organizers said the goal is not to change the historic cemetery but to freshen up and honor the community’s loved ones of yesteryear. Volunteers will enjoy the sounds of a keyboardist and saxophone plyer performing jazz while clean-up is done.

There will also be a hot dog lunch served from noon to 1 p.m. in the community center; potluck salads and desserts are welcome.

For information about participating, contact Vonnie Muniain at 840-8058 and to make monetary donations, contact Carol Davis, 881-3217.
