Cannabis Dispensary Candidates Announced

Following the lengthy holiday break, Oakdale City Council reconvened Tuesday, Jan. 16 with a full schedule, which included the announcement of two cannabis businesses that’d been selected as candidates going forward in the city’s pilot program.

JDI Farms and MDS Business Services Inc. were the finalists in a process that has spanned months as city officials worked to determine the best fit for the Oakdale community.

Both businesses offered to pay a one-time $50,000 Law Enforcement Cannabis Impact Fee. The candidates also provided proposals for the minimum monthly Public Benefit Fee they were willing to pay for the first three years of a development agreement.

Assuming agreement negotiations with the city go smoothly, the dispensaries could be up and running as soon as March 2018.
