Annual Drug Drop Effort Saturday At Courthouse

The 2018 edition of the ‘Drop the Drugs’ event is scheduled for Saturday, April 28 at the Stanislaus County Courthouse, 1100 I St., Modesto. Hours for the event are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This event is for area residents to drop off unused prescriptions, over the counter medications, and sharps for proper disposal. Stanislaus County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services hosts the event in cooperation with local law enforcement agencies.

For those residents unable to attend the program on April 28, you can stop by the Oakdale Police Department at 245 N. Second Ave., Oakdale any Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to drop off pills, liquids and over the counter medicines for confidential incineration; put the items in the prescription medication drop box in the lobby. Home-generated sharps can be disposed of each Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility, 1710 Morgan Road, Modesto. Call for additional information, Stanislaus County Department of Environmental Resources, 209-525-6700.
