Annual Don Osborne Memorial Run Slated

Oakdale Lions Club is presenting the 27th annual Don Osborne Memorial Run, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 2. The race goes off, rain or shine, and starts at the Oakdale Library, corner of G Street and South First Avenue.

There is a 5k run and a one mile run/walk offered with registration and packet pick up from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. on race day. The one mile starts at 9 a.m. with the 5k at 9:30 a.m. and the awards ceremony at 10:15 a.m.

Registration fee for adults, 19 and up, through Jan. 10 are $25 and after that date and on race day, cost is $28. Youth cost for those 9 to 18 is $10; children under 9 are free.

Shirts are guaranteed if registration is received by Jan. 10 – register online at signmeup.com/domr to save on registration fees.

Divisions, both male and female, go from 5 and under, 6 to 9, 10 to 12, 13 to 15, 16 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79 and 80-plus. There are medals awards for the top three finishers in each age division, along with gift certificates for the overall male and female winners in each race.

The course is on flat, paved city streets with traffic control provided along the route.

This is a family friendly event with all ages and abilities welcome. Checks can be made payable to Oakdale Lions Club, P.O. Box 550, Oakdale, CA 95361. Online registration closes at 11 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 28.
