Adoption Event Offered Saturday At Petco
Cookie
Cookie, an adoptable pet at the Oakdale Animal Shelter, is a young, playful bull terrier mix and is as sweet as her name. Oakdale Shelter Pet Alliance volunteers will be at Petco in the Crossroads Shopping Center, Riverbank with several shelter pets available for adoption on Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Pets from the Oakdale Animal Shelter are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.

The Oakdale Shelter Pet Alliance will be hosting an adoption event at Petco in the Crossroads Shopping Center in Riverbank on Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with adoptable pets from the Oakdale Animal Shelter.

Stop by to see the pets and you may find a new best friend to take home.

Also, if you can’t afford to fix your pet and want to prevent unplanned litters of kittens and puppies, the Oakdale Shelter Pet Alliance offers spay/neuter vouchers for cats and dogs to pet owners residing in the 95367 or 95361 zip code areas. Vouchers are valid for spay/neuter services at ACT Spay Neuter Clinic in Stockton. Free shuttle service for pets is available from Oakdale and Riverbank.

To obtain cat vouchers, bring proof of residency within the 95367 or 95361 zip code area. Cat voucher prices for those who qualify as low income (must provide EBT card, permanent Medi-Cal care, or PG&E Cares Program proof) are $20 in cash for each tame cat and vouchers for feral cats in traps are $10 each. Cat voucher prices for non-low income residents are $30 for tame cats and $20 for feral cats. For dog vouchers, you must bring proof of zip code residency, and proof of low income (EBT card, permanent Medi-Cal card, or PG&E Cares Program proof). Dog vouchers are $40 each, cash only. Limit three vouchers per address.

You do not need to bring your pet with you to apply for a voucher. Some restrictions apply. Call 209 543-5434 for further information.

The low cost spay/neuter voucher program provided by the Oakdale Shelter Pet Alliance has been highly successful. Launched in August of 2011, the goal of the program is to reduce the number of unwanted dog and cat litters, thereby reducing the intake at local animal shelters.

Pet owners may apply for vouchers at the following locations:

Petco, Crossroads Shopping Center, Riverbank, Saturday, June 6, 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Oakdale Animal Shelter, 9800 Liberini Road, Oakdale, Saturday, June 6, 10 a.m. until noon.
