Pastor Tyler Bliss of Crossfire Student Gathering, the youth ministry for Bethel Church at 105 E G St., Oakdale, is hosting a service to honor Ruben Mora Jr. and Abel Calderon, Thursday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. 

Several of the students in the youth ministry knew Mora and Calderon and are having a hard time dealing with the tragedy, according to Pastor Bliss. Mora and Calderon were shot down in front of Oakdale Market on Sunday, Nov. 11.  They have put this program on to show their support and bring everyone together.  There will be a collection at the service to help both families with the financial hardships that they may be going through due to this unexpected tragedy. 

At the service, Pastor Bliss is hoping to talk to the local teenagers and will allow them to share their memories.

“This is a time for encouragement,” said Pastor Bliss. “We just want to help the families.”   

Pastor Bliss has coordinated this event and is looking forward to the fellowship within the community.
