Knights Ferry

Happy birthday Betty Irvine (Robuck)! Betty will turn 102 on February 25th. Betty was born in Knights Ferry on what is now the Martinelli ranch. When her parents Thomas and Myrtle Robuck sold the ranch, the Robuck family kept an acre and 1/3 for family to visit. Betty is the last remaining survivor of the Robuck clan of Knights Ferry. One of Betty’s contributions to Knights Ferry is the gorgeous mural of Lover’s Leap inside the Church.

If you would like to send Betty a birthday card please contact me, Nastasia Sweet via email or phone (209-606-3828) and I will happily provide her mailing address.

You may have noticed the large cone in the middle of town in front of the Creamery. The cone was protecting a small but dangerous hole in the road. The hole revealed more of the drain that travels under the road. Public Works came to fix the hole in the afternoon as school was let out causing a large traffic jam in town. They temporarily filled the hole but will be back soon to replace the pipe. As much as we need the rain, I hope we don’t have too much rain before the drain is unplugged or we may see another Knights Ferry flood!
