Knights Ferry News Week of September 4, 2013

Here it is September already, two thirds of the year gone by! For your calendar: September 5th – Knights Ferry Community Club dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the clubhouse. Miles Shuper will report on the car show. September 10th is the meeting of the History and Museum Associates at Miller’s Hall at 9:00 a.m. September 11th is the Knights Ferry Garden Club meeting at Bev Hay’s home at 10:00 a.m. The pumpkin rolls will be discussed. September 12 is the Knights Ferry School Board meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. September 26 is the MAC meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the clubhouse.

Orange Blossom 4-H will welcome new and returning members on September 9th with their annual Ice Cream Social. It will be held at the clubhouse (new location) at 6:30 p.m. They offer over 20 different projects for Kindergarten through High School students. Since this a local group, let’s see a lot of local children join!

The “Randy Mandy Band”, featuring Randy Russell and Amanda Wright, will be opening for “Wynonna” at the Sierra View Music Festival on September 14th. Way to go!

Pat Johnson helped move her son Will and daughter-in-law Anna from Alabama to Oregon where they will be stationed. They will live in North Bend. Pat also reports that son Sam has been working for Hughes (think Howard) in Malibu and made a presentation in Montreal on a paper he wrote. He is working on his Doctorate Degree.

Congratulations Knights Ferry School on an API score of 878!

The band at KFS has started and they will be going to see “Stomp” in October. They are also working on making their own instruments.

The Sixth Grade students will be going to Outdoor Education the week of September 23-27. Hope the air is clearer then!
