Movie night was a preview of Halloween. Children and adults came in costume to enjoy the treats, the movie “Hocus Pocus” and popcorn. There were many great costumes including two who were covered head to toe in a spandex type multi colored outfit. Don’t know who they were! It was a fun night in the clubhouse.

The Knights Ferry School Band went to Modesto to see “Stomp” at the Gallo Center. They sold cookie dough to raise the funds for this trip. Kaeli Sweet said it was fun and awesome!

The Voortman family are back from vacationing in San Diego. They took the children to the zoo for a day, went to the farmer’s market and played on the beach. Tristan Voortman liked the ocean.

While the Army Corp Park was closed, Lisa Dolling took the time off to visit relatives in Washington State. She is glad to be back to work!

On October 31st, at noon, the school children will again parade through town “Trick or Treating” all the adults that line Main Street with their bowls of candy. This is quite a sight and you can see all the costumes in the daylight. Earlier that morning the school children decorate pumpkins (in groups) to be judged.

Starting October 24th the Knights Ferry School will sponsor Red Ribbon Week. On Thursday, the 24th the student body will wear red. Friday is Sports Day to team up against drugs. Monday, the 28th is Backwards Day to turn backs on drugs. Tuesday the 29th is Pajama Day to not wake up to drugs. Wednesday the 30th is Crazy Day, not crazy for drugs. If you see school children in weird outfits, this is the reason.

The Salmon Festival is on. It is October 26 at the Army Corp Park from 10:00 a.m.to 3:00 p.m. It is a fun family day with the salmon in the river and all kinds of booths for the children. Food will be a salmon bar-b-que.
