The senseless shootings in Oakdale have touched Knights Ferry. Abel Calderon, 20 years old, was one of those killed. His brother Alan is married to Jenee, daughter of Ray and Jean Northcutt, formerly of Knights Ferry and Jean is Pat Johnson’s sister. The Calderons have a yard service and have been doing Carol Davis’s yard for 12 years. She has watched Abel grow up into a fine young man. They also cleaned the Oak Grove Cemetery this year and have done work around the Ferry. There is a memorial fund for Abel at any Bank of the West.
