The Knights Ferry Municipal Advisory Committee (MAC) will meet Thursday, June 25th at the clubhouse at 7:00 p.m. The Sheriffs Department and Animal Control are to speak. Also on the agenda is the Northern Corridor, the new route of the Oakdale Bypass coming from Salida and entering the highway around Lovers Leap, and the 500 kilovolt transmission lines that is proposed to come up the highway and go through Buena Vista on its way to New Melones. This power line would have towers up to 150 feet high. Some of the proposed route goes over homes and ranches. This is your government in action and all are invited to the meetings.

July is fast approaching, with the annual Community Club picnic on July 2nd at 6:00 p.m. in the pecan grove of the Knights Ferry Rec. area. The club will provide hot dogs, chips and lemonade. Last names beginning with A-L bring dessert, M-Z sides and salads. This is always a great gathering with good food!

The Odd Fellows breakfast is Sunday, July 5th from 8:00 to noon. Ham, eggs, pancakes, juice and coffee are served for only $5.00.

Kaila Hutchings, former proprietor of the Knights Ferry Creamery, was married Saturday to Moises Silva in a lovely outdoor ceremony on Hutching’s hill. The many guests enjoyed the evening with good food and music.

Vacation Bible School will be held at the Knights Ferry Community Church on July 13th through 15th. The children can register the first morning at 9:00 a.m.

The Mullins family would like to thank all for their concern during Richard’s hospitalization. He received many heartfelt get well wishes. He is now recovering at his daughter’s home.

Down memory lane to June, 2000 - Emily Redden and Ian Ryland got married, Katie Bell graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Collin Hodge was awarded Junior Reserve Grand Champion with his llama at the Grass Valley Show, Fred Dolling proposed to Lisa at Pacific Beach, Tom Crom was top scorer at the He-man picnic, Danielle Frymire found a rattlesnake on her lawn, and Rick Maisel caught a 41 pound salmon in Alaska.
