Last week, there was another vehicle accident at the highway and Willms Road. It was a single truck accident but the truck burst into flames and it ignited a grass fire on the South side of the highway. The Sheriff’s department released incredible footage from a Sheriff’s body cam as he helped pull a man from the vehicle as it was igniting. Once again, thank you law enforcement and fire crews for saving lives and minimizing damage from an accident in our area!

Betty Irvine (Robuck) is recovering from pneumonia in her Oakland home. Betty is a very talented artist and while she isn’t drawing or painting much at 104 years young, she has drawn and painted many iconic spots in Knights Ferry. Church-goers enjoy her talents every week as she painted the mural on the back wall in the sanctuary. I have the pleasure of admiring a painting she did a few years ago of my parent’s house because it was her family home for many years before. It hangs in my living room near my grandma’s paintings. We are all wishing you well, Betty!

We felt an earthquake in Knights Ferry in the late morning last week. It had a magnitude of 5.8 and its origin was Lone Pine, Ca. Homes in Knights Ferry tend to be older homes and my home is no exception! I heard the creaks of my old home before I felt the earthquake! Thankfully, no damage was reported in town.
