The Knights Ferry School Board meeting was done in record time! The action items that passed were the Audit Report, School Accountability Report Card, Confidential Employee Salary Schedule and the Classified Employee Salary Schedule. Under reports and announcements the March Auction and Dinner is the 28th of March, the staff is working on the Website and the regular February meeting will be February 12, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. with Stanislaus County Superintendent of Schools Tom Changnon in attendance. It was reported that Manny Arias of the 50’s Roadhouse donated the dollar bills that were covering the bar area to the Knights Ferry Parent/Teacher Club and the teachers are deciding what to buy. Thanks Manny!

Jim Boyer is slowly recovering and has been moved to the Kaiser Facility in Manteca for rehab. He may have visitors for a short period of time.

Kim Banks, Knights Ferry PTC President, reports that there are a few fundraisers for the school that are painless, don’t cost a thing but bring in money. They are Save Mart Share Cards, Target Red Card, Raley’s, Box Tops for Education and Safeway Club Card. It is amazing what a few cents can add up to.

Miles Shuper is working tirelessly on the April 4th Car Show for the Ferry. There is a lot of interest already.

Condolences go out to Dick Muniain and the Muniain family on the death of Toni Muniain, Dick’s niece.

In 1867 there was another homicide in the Ferry according to old records. It said killings have become a regular occurrence. Seems a man was shot because he was observed spending money playing cards and that the person that shot him had just loaned the money to him to feed his family.

Don’t forget to be gathering raffle items for the March 21st Spaghetti Dinner. They can be brought to the next Community Club meeting, February 5th.
