Movie night was well attended with pajama clad children with blankets and pillows to watch “Santa and Pete”. They also enjoyed hot cocoa and popcorn.

At the History and Museum’s meeting the new bookshelves in the library, donated by Donald and Karen Voortman, were up and full of books. They look really nice. The Ice Cream Parlor, the Visitors Center and MADE will be closed for the holidays and reopen in January. The upcoming Peddlers Faire will be April 26, 2015.

The Knights Ferry School’s Winter Program is Thursday, December 18th at 6:30 at the clubhouse.

Knights Ferry Garden Club had their Christmas luncheon at the home of Barbara Shook and enjoyed exchanging (and stealing) gifts. There will not be a January meeting.

At the Knights Ferry School Board meeting Kym Cassaretto was elected President, Sean McCarthy Clerk of the Board and Maureen McKibban Representative to the County School Board. The Board approved the First Interim and ratified the KFTA contract. They also gave stipends for the 6th grade teacher for Science Camp and the 8th grade teacher for Graduation. The Certificated staff got an increase in days (and salary) and the combination class teachers got a stipend. The January Board meeting will be January 15th because of the holidays.

Students that had a Grade Point Average of 3.5 to 3.9 in the first trimester were: River McCarthy, Marcada Baker, Natalie Baton, Mitzy Collantes, Olivia Doshas, Makena Mendonca, Mikali Willis, Tyden Baker, Rilyn Cassaretto, Eden Cassinetto, Angel Limon, Austin Santillo and Kaeli Sweet. They were honored at the Renaissance assembly. Keep up the good work!

A retirement dinner at La Contenta in Valley Springs was held for Dwayne Johnson, Park Manager of the U.S. Army Corp Park in the Ferry. He received a Cowboys NFL sweatshirt and hat and money. His last day is December 30th.
