Knights Ferry School went to Gratton School for a Spelling Bee. Those attending were: 2nd grade-Lily Sturtevant and Jenna O’Neil, 3rd grade-Trent Esteves, Carson Sundberg and Gracie Anderson, 4th grade-River McCarthy, Mason O’Neil and Grace Harden, 5th grade-Luke Dickens, Dakota Voortman and Hayden Cassaretto, 6th grade-Dean Dodge, Olivia Doshas and Jude Krick, 7th grade-Braden Sousa and Matthew Wolf, 8th grade-Tyden Baker, Wyatt Dickens and Dayne Sturtevant. Congratulations go out to River McCarthy on placing third!

The Griesner ranch has killed three rattlesnakes recently! Be on the lookout especially mornings and evenings.

Welcome to the world Nolan Burroughs, born April 15th at the Army base in Seoul, Korea to Major Rett and Justina. Welcoming him home is big brother Neal. Proud Knights Ferry grandparents are Lynn and Barbara Burroughs.

Knights Ferry Garden Club was notified that Knights Ferry School’s second grader David Kouassi took Honorable Mention in the Smokey Bear Poster Contest at the State level!

Gary Shook was the recipient of the “Birthday song” at the 50’s roadhouse last Wednesday.

The Don Armario family has a guest staying with them. Theresa Whitty, sister of Magdalena who was their exchange student 10 years ago is here learning how to make saddles. When Janine visited the Whitty family last year Theresa was interested in coming over to learn the saddle trade and the Armario’s said “Welcome!”

At the Knights Ferry School Board meeting they approved the teacher and classified Appreciation Week, the SCOE master agreement and the Ricoh Lease (copier). Public Schools Night is April 30th with the classrooms open at 5:30 p.m., the Masonic program at 6:00 p.m., and the classrooms opening back up at 6:30 p.m. The week of April 27 is a Book Fair in the cafeteria.

Sunday, April 26th is the annual Peddler’s Faire in the Ferry. The day will start with breakfast at the I.O.O.F. Hall. There will be shuttle service from town to the park where you can shop for crafts or antiques. This will go on rain or shine.
