Those of us who are lucky enough to live in the actual town of Knights Ferry were gifted the sweetest valentines from students at Knights Ferry School last week! My gate was lucky enough to receive a total of five valentines. The valentines were hand drawn cards with hearts and colorful words.

I was also lucky enough to receive a printed copy of the February 2022 edition of the Paw Print Press. The Paw Print Press is composed by Knights Ferry students and it included personal interviews of other students, Valentine’s crossword puzzle, and even a comic section!

It brought back memories of when I was a part of the newspaper crew when I was a student at Knights Ferry. We used to have to write using keyboards and then plug them into the computers so we could print the articles. But even before I was typing our news articles on a keyboard, there were another school newspaper that was handwritten by the students! The name of the newspaper has since slipped my mind but I am certain Ms. Carol Davis will remember if you visit her at the Knights Ferry Museum. There is quite a bit of history recorded by the students at Knights Ferry and it is wonderful to see the students of today carry on the tradition. Thank you for sharing this treasure with the local homes in town!

Knights Ferry students may be enjoying their winter break but the parents are busy planning the largest fundraiser of the year! The 25th annual dinner and auction fundraiser is March 5, 2022 and will be held at the Bianchi Community Center in Oakdale.
