I think we can all agree the highlight of the week was the Peddler’s Faire! The Clampers helped with parking, a shuttle was donated to help transport people closer to the park, STARS came to serve as volunteer docents in the museum, and the vendors were poised and ready to sell to thousands of people. The morning was a bit cool but by the afternoon, the sun was out and it was a glorious day. Many shoppers were wise and brought carts to tote around their goodies from spot to spot and the line at the kettle corn booth was out of control! The great weather and sold out vendor numbers brought record attendance numbers to town! Even dog attendance numbers were high; big dogs and little dogs paraded by the booths all day long!

The fifth-eighth graders attended the annual small school track meet at Paradise school. The Bobcats participated in events such as triple jump, discus, 70 yard hurdles, mile race, and the competitive grand finale, the relay. The sixth grade boys; Levi Dickens, Zyler Moore, Carson Sundberg, and Austin Sherley were one of the victorious relay teams of the day. I am very proud of James Peterson and Charlie Leon for running the mile race for the first time! That is a very tough race and they both finished with smiles on their faces. Knights Ferry competed against Gratton, Roberts Ferry, Paradise, Valley Home, and Shiloh schools. There are very good athletes in all the schools but the Bobcats did a great job bringing home a lot of first, second, and third place ribbons!

Congratulations to eighth grader Annabel Lee for winning the first science fair at Knights Ferry School! She asked the scientific question: Which cleaner is most effective at eliminating E. Coli contamination? The studious eighth grader also took home a win with her essay about what life would be like in 50 years for the Mason’s essay contest at the Knights Ferry School Open House. Well done, Annabel!
