Knights Ferry News
Knights Ferry

Those who attended the Civil War reenactments enjoyed fair weather this weekend. Kudos to the reenactors who braved the weather predictions in canvas tents and straw bedding! The Saturday crowds and reenactors were a bit smaller than normal due to the rain forecast but it was a still lovely day in Knights Ferry.

The Community Club hosted their annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Saturday night. The Garden Club decorated the dining tables with beautiful centerpieces. Lisa Dolling chaired the dinner and Gail McKinley chaired the raffle. Thank you, ladies for stepping up to help out!

The school had a renaissance and kindness assembly on Friday. A student from each grade was chosen to receive the “caring” award by their teacher and then all 5th – 8th grade students who qualified for renaissance received a blue, silver, or gold card and a prize. We have a lot of very smart and kind students at Knights Ferry school!

Good news! The annual ski trip is rescheduled due to the recent snow and cold weather. The students are very excited to have another chance to hit the slopes. For some, this may be the only time they will have the opportunity to ski or snowboard.

Soon the 5th-8th graders head out to Paradise School for basketball games. Good luck, Bobcats!

The Knights Ferry Parent Teacher Club reported they grossed approximately $44,000 at their recent fundraiser. All the hard work and planning was a success. What a tremendous blessing to our school!

Don’t forget about the roadwork in town. It was cancelled due to rain in the forecast but it is set to start as soon as they can get a relatively rain free weather prediction. Please be patient and drive slow through town, if not for the public workers trying to close the sink hole in the middle of town, but for the children and loose animals roaming around town!

Stop by the Post Office lobby to confirm the dates and times of important meetings in town. We have the MAC committee meetings, the Citizens Unite meetings, Water Board meetings, and even Fire Board meetings here in town. Dolly is very good about posting the appropriate dates and times for each meeting. While you’re there, pick up some stamps to support our local historic Post Office!
