Be sure to tread lightly around the brunch table because it is also April Fool’s day and who knows what kinds of tricks your family and friends have planned!

On Saturday, April 7th the Knights Ferry Classic Car Show will take over Main Street, Knights Ferry. At the moment, the weather looks to be good and you won’t want to miss the selection of cars and trucks parked up and down Main Street. It will be a very busy day in town!

The local restaurants will be open all day for a delicious meal, snack, or a drink and additional parking with shuttle will be available.

In addition to the Car Show, the Church Bazaar Fundraiser in the Community Club will be open from 9am-5pm. Remember, they are still looking for donations such as handmade crafts and baked goods. If you have questions or donations, contact Dolly Haskell 209-681-2402.

The Knights Ferry Museum will be open from 9:30am-2pm. The docents will be available for questions and help around the museum. The museum has fun little activities for children so be sure to bring the family by on Sunday! The Museum Associates have been hard at work in the museum organizing old newspaper articles and correspondence from years past. It takes a lot of time to preserve the past for the future!

The Hook and Ladder building will be open from 10:30am-1:00pm. The building is near the River’s Edge and houses an original horse drawn hook and ladder truck used to fight fires in the late 1800s and early 1900s. According to the 1996 Sesquicentennial Committee, the hook and ladder fire wagon was purchased in New York by Knights Ferry and shipped to San Francisco in 1872. On arrival, it was “claimed” by a S. F. fire company. A delegation from Knights Ferry liberated the fire wagon and brought it home. In 1998, the Oakdale Rural Volunteers completely rebuilt it to its original splendor.
