The Kindergarten class visited the McHenry Mansion and the Modesto Museum. Liam Voortman was happy to see a desk that was once in the courthouse in Knights Ferry when it was the county seat of Stanislaus County from 1862-1872.

Mrs. McCarthy’s Kindergarten class has been learning what it would have been like for their ancestors immigrating to America. This week each student packed a suitcase with five items they would pack for their trip to America. They will dress in period clothing and pretend they are venturing to Ellis Island.

The fifth through eighth grade students at school are crossing their fingers for snow at Dodge Ridge. They have a ski trip scheduled for Friday but it will need to be rescheduled if the ski resort does not have snow. For many students, it is the only chance to hit the slopes. Another exciting part of the ski trip field trip is they get to ride a school bus. Knights Ferry School does not offer school bus transportation so the ski trip is one of the only times the students have a chance to get on a bus!
