The Miller’s Hall meeting reported a very positive December for the Post Office. People both in and out of our community have continued to show support of the Post Office by purchasing stamps and shipping packages in Knights Ferry. Keep up the good work!

The Jr. High class went on a field trip to UC Davis. They visited the Geotechnical Modeling Center where they learned about geotechnical engineering, a branch of civil engineering. They toured a centrifuge and pretended to be a geotechnical engineer by building a potential home for a client using K’nex and testing it on a shake table simulating an earthquake. Afterward, the Jr. High class went on an official tour of the UC Davis campus and learned the basic requirements to attend UC Davis. The whole day inspired the class to go to college and learn more about potential majors and professions.

The Randy Mandy Band played an amazing farewell-for-now show with their bass player, John Montes. John is moving and they will miss him very much! Their music is a flawless account of the small-town heart and soul in Knights Ferry. Randy and Amanda have a gorgeous sound and they have everyone dancing and singing along the whole show. They plan to release a new album sometime in the future!

The annual Knights Ferry School Dinner and Auction fundraiser is March 10, 2018. Tickets are now on sale! Last year, the event sold out and was a major success. The theme is Vegas Nights, there will be a chicken and beef buffet dinner and full bar, and tickets are $40 a person. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older, no children or babies.
