The first Sunday in town is fast approaching! Breakfast Sunday at the Odd Fellows hall is a monthly tradition for many families. I love seeing the old, the new, the out-of-towners, and the locals enjoying the each other’s company across the tables every month. This is a great Sunday to eat breakfast because the community yard sale is on the tennis courts, there will be flu shots available on site, and the Wandering Barista will be parked on Main Street for the morning. Our town is always buzzing with activities for the whole family and that’s one thing I love about Knights Ferry.

Do you remember the days when school started after Labor Day? It was always nice to know my summer didn’t end until September. Our kids don’t have that luxury but then again, we didn’t have the luxury of an iPad or an iPhone so I guess they will survive! We expect a lot of people in town during Labor Day weekend. One such group will be the Boy Scouts Troop 43 as they raft the river with River Journey.

My family just got home from our first experience staying at an AirBnB for a long weekend in Groveland. We spent time with my husband’s family.

Knights Ferry school held their Back-to-School night on Wednesday night and it was well attended. They had teacher presentations before and after the main presentation in the multipurpose room. Our school year is going be awesome! The PTC held a sort of mixer type meeting for all the parents to see the different activities the PTC participates in and hosts throughout the year. There were so many new faces this year and many people interested in the club.

Did you see the General Store showcased on Channel 10 earlier this week? It was a great piece with colorful town locals. Rick Maisel did a great job!
