Knights Ferry News 11-3-21

On Friday, Knights Ferry School was the best place to be! There were bouncy houses and carnival games all over the field for the students to enjoy. Spooky, upbeat music was blasting on the speakers and there was even a coffee truck for parents to get something to drink! They held their traditional pumpkin decorating contest where the entire school is divided into groups and they decorate a pumpkin with various items such as paint, pipe cleaners, feathers, and all sorts of other odds and ends. There were 28 decorated pumpkins for the judges to walk through and small prizes were awarded to the winners. The teachers and staff dressed up as the Seven Dwarfs, Snow White, and Prince Charming. The grand finale of the traditional Halloween celebration was the infamous parade downtown where they gathered a great deal of candy from all the locals and parents who lined Main Street! It was a great day and the students are lucky to have a wonderful group of teachers and parents who support all the fun activities.

It was a beautiful Halloween in Knights Ferry! The weather was perfect for local families to walk the streets in town. It is great to see families out enjoying the holiday together.

Thank you to Lee Hetzler, Kody Simons, and Gary Briery and the rest of volunteers who stepped up to work on the water leak in town. It definitely takes a village to keep our small town up and running. We appreciate your efforts!

Have you had a chance to check out the salmon in the river? They are here laying their eggs!

The Pumpkin Roll is Sunday, November 7, 2021! The streets will be crowded as everyone gathers to roll a pumpkin for a chance to be the Pumpkin Roll Champion of the World in their age division! There will be vendors in the Community Club, Pancake Breakfast at the Odd Fellows, and the Knights Ferry Museum will be open for viewing! It will be a fun activity to walk around town, check out the salmon at the bridge, take a stroll around the Knights Ferry Museum!

Also, please expect traffic delays as Main Street will be closed for most of Sunday. The detour is on the narrow side streets so if you are driving a large vehicle or truck and trailer, consider taking an alternate route! Thank you for your patience.
