The Salmon Festival was very well attended! We have been fortunate to have good weather for our events in the area. The Salmon Festival was held on the South Side of the river park. The booths featured conservation efforts, wildlife, and safety information. I noticed this year they included Native American performances where they talked and shared various instruments and dances. The festival kept up with their Salmon Festival T-shirt tradition! It is my favorite activity at the festival because I remember when my children made shirts at the same booth. There was a carcass demonstration, activities to color and create for children, and a few booths for people to purchase items such as dream catchers.

I was able to secure the 2023 Pumpkin Roll winners: 0-5 girls Emmy Lou Feldhaus, 0-5 boys Hugo Glidewell, Senior women Patty Muniain, Senior men David Souza, 6-12 girls Forest Ingram, 6-12 boys Isiah Ortiz, teen girls Kylie Jason, teen boys Troy Peterson, adult women Brandy Mangante, and adult men Jim Mack. Congratulations to all the winners! There were 385 pumpkin roll participants and the highlight of the year was the three-way “roll off” in the ladies division between Hillary, Beth, and Brandy! Thank you to all the people who help during the Pumpkin Roll. It takes many hands to manage the shirts, the pumpkin roll event, the sign-up table, help the vendors, and lots of little odds and ends along the way. Please know you are all appreciated!
