Knights Ferry News 11-13-19

Families visited Knights Ferry for the 11th annual Salmon Festival over the weekend! It was a free family friendly environment to learn about wildlife. One of the more popular pastimes was peaking over the bridge to see the salmon are slowly swimming upstream to lay their eggs. In the festival area, there was live music by Matt Paldo, Ed Ishmail, and Raelene Kemp. It was very enjoyable to have live music while kids painted their salmon festival T-shirts, played games, and looked at salmon up close. There is so much to learn about keeping the river clean and the salmon healthy! Congratulations to Lily Sturtevant, the talented seventh grader, who created artwork that made it into the 2020 Salmon Festival calendar! Lily Sturtevant’s artwork will be displayed for the whole month of November next year in the calendar. Thank you, Army Corp of Engineers and the Salmon Festival committee for hosting such a wonderful event!

The Club will provide turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, and rolls and they ask that each family bring a dish to share. Families with the last name beginning with A-M should bring a side dish and families with the last name beginning with N-Z should bring a dessert. Be sure to mark your calendars!
