Can you believe a half of a year has gone by? Hope everyone is keeping cool in this heat. Remember your pets and potted plants, as they need water also.

Knights Ferry Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) has a new member, David Voortman. He replaces Scott Wucherer who resigned due to business obligations. David took the Oath of Office at the June meeting. Also at the meeting Carol Davis told of the upcoming community Fourth of July picnic at the clubhouse at 6:30 p.m. Dolly Haskell expressed the Council’s appreciation to the Basmajian’s for their opening of the General Store and the History and Museum Associates for getting the Post Office open again. A reminder to all property owners: clean up the dead weeds, they are a fire hazard.

Congratulations to Thor Hoefer, Bill and Kay Martinelli’s grandson, on his 86 score on bull riding to win at Sandpoint.

A record crowd enjoyed the annual Phil and Lisa Frymire Luau. Good food, a cool pool, drinks and music by Randy Mandy Band were enjoyed by all. Sasha won the dart contest.

July 3rd is breakfast Sunday in the Ferry from 8 a.m. to noon at the I.O.O.F. Hall on Main Street. Ham, eggs, hot cakes, juice and coffee are served for only $6.

The community picnic is July 7th at 6:30 p.m. in the cool clubhouse. The club provides the hot dogs and if your last name begins with A-M bring sides or salads and N-Z bring desserts or nibbles. All are invited; you do not need to be a member.

Tuesday, July 12, is the meeting of the History and Museum Associates at 9 a.m. in Miller’s Hall. This is open to anyone interested in keeping the town’s history alive.

July 28th is the MAC meeting at 7 p.m. in the clubhouse.
