Knights Ferry News 10-31-18
Nastasia Sweet

One of the town’s busiest days of the year is quickly approaching on November 4th! The streets will be flooded with people on Sunday for the 55th Pumpkin Roll in Knights Ferry so be sure to drive safely in and around town. At 8 a.m., the Odd Fellows start to serve breakfast and the craft vendors open at the Community Club, the young children start to roll pumpkins around 12 p.m. with the rest of the age groups to follow (don’t forget to sign up), and finally, the Knights Ferry Museum will open at 12 p.m.! Don’t forget to purchase your very own Pumpkin Roll T-shirt before they are all gone, they look amazing. The weather is going to be a perfect 79 degrees this year!

A little birdy told me there will be a fairly large group of local trick-or-treaters this year! They plan to take a hay ride to visit some friends outside of town and then walk the streets of Knights Ferry in costume.

The Knights Ferry Bobcats have enjoyed regular art lessons using various mediums and techniques with local art instructor, Ms. Lizzie. The 5th and 6th graders visited the Powerhouse Science Center in Sacramento last week. They participated in a hands-on science experiment and toured interactive exhibits. These gifts are made possible by the Parent Teacher Club and all the wonderful friends of Knights Ferry School who donate to the Parent Teacher Club.

The school held Red Ribbon Week to encourage all students to “just say NO to drugs”. Each day of the week, the students dressed in a variety of themes such as PJ day, super hero day, and crazy day!

The 5th-8th grade flag football and volleyball games against Gratton Elementary were cancelled due to a schedule conflict for Gratton and the games will not be rescheduled at this time. The next game the Bobcats have will be against Valley Home Elementary.
