Knights Ferry seniors, Alyssa Cisco, Eden Cassinetto, and Kaeli Sweet were awarded scholarships at Senior Night in Oakdale. Thank you to the Knights Ferry Parent Teacher Club, Knights Ferry Community Club, Knights Ferry Garden Club, and the Knights Ferry Odd Fellows (Stanislaus #170) for donating money toward the future college students.

The Knights Ferry Junior High traveled to the Chabot Space and Science Center last week. The students were able to use a large telescope to see Venus and serve as astronauts and control center personnel in a space voyage to Mars.

The 5th-8th graders traveled to Paradise Elementary School for a track meet against surrounding small schools. Shiloh, Valley Home, Roberts Ferry, Gratton, and Knights Ferry students participated in Track and Field events. A few of the winners included Easton Ehrlich in the mile for the 5th grade boys, Cheyanne Black in 7th grade 50, Deagan Sweet in the 8th grade 50, 100, and mile, Rita Taylor in the hurdles and 50. The 5th-6th grade girls relay team (Holly Conde, Chloe Ridenour, Lupita Pineda, Rita Taylor) and the 5th-6th grade boys relay team (James Peterson, Easton Ehrlich, Paul Chiara) also took home first place against the other small school relay teams!

The school will host its first Ag day on May 28th from 8:30am-12pm. If you are interested participating by sharing some of your agricultural passion please contact the school at 881-3382 ASAP.

Welcome Ms. Heather Shepherd to Knights Ferry School! Ms. Shepherd will be the new 5th and 6th grade teacher and Ms. Zellmer will teach the 3rd grade class.

The talent show is Thursday, May 16th at 5pm up at the school. Admission is free and there will be a taco truck available to purchase dinner for the family! Bring your blankets and chairs to watch the students showcase their very special talents.

Graduation at Knights Ferry School is May 30th. Kindergarteners will graduate at 5pm and the 8th grade graduation will be at 7pm with a reception to follow. Remember parking is limited and carpooling is encouraged! Also, don’t forget to cheer on the high school graduates from Knights Ferry School on May 24th at 7pm.

Bring non-perishable food donations to the Knights Ferry Post Office on Saturday, May 11 for the Letter Carriers’ Food Drive. They will deliver it to the local food bank! Don’t forget that you can purchase stamps and ship packages from our local Post Office. Every little bit helps our historic Post Office stay open!

The Knight Ferry Rebekahs #361 hosted a Paint Day Fundraiser with a taco bar lunch. The group painted a Hawaiian scenery titled “Hawaii Palm” under the instruction of the talented Rebekah, Carol Earle. Carol has been teaching painting classes at the Hobby Shop in Oakdale since 1988. She had easels, canvases, paints, and brushes all set up for each of the guests and everyone had a very good time! Thank you for supporting the local Rebekahs!
