There were the traditional ghosts and goblins, some video game characters, a few witches sprinkled in … all joining in for a fun observance of Halloween in Oakdale.

The city’s annual Halloween Parade and Festival was offered from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 31, starting with the parade that marched along G Street down to the Bianchi Community Center on South Second Avenue.

Once at the Community Center, participants could enjoy hot dogs, chips and drinks before joining in for some fun and games, getting some candy and taking advantage of photo opportunities as well.

It was a large crowd that turned out for the evening’s festivities, making for another successful year for the family-friendly event.
