Free Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs, which started in February, will run through March at libraries in Salida, Riverbank, and Oakdale.

Volunteers, trained and certified by the IRS, are providing tax preparation assistance at the following locations:

· Mondays, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Nick W. Blom Salida Regional Library, 4835 Sisk Rd., Salida. Call 209-543-7315 for an appointment.

· Wednesdays, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Riverbank Library, 3442 Santa Fe St., Riverbank. Call 209-869-7008 for an appointment.

· Thursdays, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Oakdale Library, 151 S. First Ave., Oakdale. Call 209-847-4204 for an appointment.

Taxpayers will be given an appointment time to complete an intake form and drop off tax documents. Tax preparation will be completed off-site by certified volunteer tax preparers, with completed returns available for pick-up the following week. Appointment times are limited, so interested parties are urged to call for an appointment as soon as possible.
