The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Oct. 20 through Monday, Oct. 26. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, OCT. 26

No time listed – Battalions 1 and 5 attended a weekly command staff meeting.

 

SUNDAY, OCT. 25

7:16 p.m. – Modesto Engine 27, Engine 28 and Battalion 5 responded to Highway 108 and Mondo Lane for reports of a big rig vs. a car. Crews arrived on scene and found the driver of the car pinned in and initiated extrication as Oak Valley Ambulance started patient assessment. The driver of the car was pronounced deceased on scene. A passenger from the truck was transported for evaluation. CHP is investigating.

 

SATURDAY, OCT. 24

10:47 a.m. – Modesto Engine 28 responded to Valley View Park to assist Oak Valley Ambulance. A subject had fallen along the Stanislaus River Trail and suffered a broken ankle. Engine 28 and Oak Valley were able to carry the patient out and to the ambulance utilizing a stokes basket.

1:02 p.m. – Modesto Engine 9, Battalion 5 and Stanislaus Engine 26 responded to reports of a vehicle accident in the 4700 block of Claribel Road. Crews treated and Oak Valley Ambulance transported three patients with minor to moderate injuries. CHP is investigating.

2:19 p.m. – Modesto Engine 28 and Oak Valley Ambulance responded to River Ranch Court in Oakdale for a fall victim. The patient was on a skateboard coming down a steep street and fell. The patient temporarily lost consciousness and met fly-out criteria. Modesto Engine 27 and Battalion 5 assisted with setting up a landing zone for Cal Star 12 to transport.

11:05 p.m. – Stanislaus Engine 26, Modesto Engine 27 and Battalion 5 responded with Oak Valley Ambulance to the 3600 block of Kentucky in Riverbank for reports of a vehicle roll over. Engine 26 arrived on scene and found all occupants out of the vehicle with no medical complaints. The car had struck three other parked vehicles causing it to overturn. Stanislaus Sheriff investigating.

 

FRIDAY, OCT. 23

2:53 a.m. – Engine 28 and BC5 responded to a medical aid for a gunshot victim. Crews were cleared into the scene by the Oakdale Police Department and arrived to find a subject with a gunshot wound. The subject was treated on scene and transported to a local emergency room.

No time listed – Companies participated in multi-company training at the RFTC.

 

THURSDAY, OCT. 22

8:47 p.m. – Engine 27 responded to an illegal burn threatening powerlines; no address listed.
