After only able to have a ‘drive-thru’ St. Patrick’s Day dinner last year, members of the Escalon Lions Club are eager to welcome diners back inside the city’s Community Center.
Scheduled for Thursday, March 17, the Lions Club will once again host its traditional Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner, with tickets available at $25 per person. The evening begins with a no host bar at 6 p.m., followed by the dinner service at 7 p.m.
Tickets are available from Lions Club members and can also be purchased at Escalon Body and Frame, 2228 Main St., Escalon.
“We did a drive-thru only last year but this year with the (pandemic) restrictions a little backed off, we encourage people to come in and sit down,” said Lions Club member John Salvin.
There will also be meals to go, drive-thru style, for those that choose to pick up their meal and eat at home.
But, said Salvin, the festivities inside the Community Center will also feature the opportunity to purchase tickets for a variety of raffle items, as well as a silent auction, a live auction and live music with an Irish flair.
The menu will feature the traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner with all the trimmings in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.
Proceeds from the event will benefit a number of community service projects through the Lions Club, which also provides scholarships to graduating Escalon High School seniors each year.
