Oakdale Plans Special Graduation Night Party
OHS Mustangs

Members of the Oakdale High School Class of 2016 can celebrate their final night of high school together in a fun, safe, sober environment by attending the Sober Grad Night party.

Tickets are $50 and community members can sponsor a student by purchasing a ticket for a senior who might not otherwise get to attend. Organizers said this event has been created to provide a safe graduation night of entertainment, games, food and fabulous prizes. Entertainment includes a DJ all night, dancing, indoor gaming room, outdoor games and picture booths.

Committee members said they are in need of donations, including cash, computer, tablets, microwave, camping stuff, gift cards of any value, bicycles, dorm needs, bean bag chairs, tickets to sporting events, etc. for kids to win as prizes at the event. Every dollar received is well spent on the Sober Grad Night, officials added.

It takes $25,000 to put this event together as well as many volunteer hours and the committee is still in need of volunteers to help work the night of Sober Grad on May 27. You do not have to have a graduating senior to volunteer. It’s a great opportunity to “pay it forward” as many parents of seniors can’t help due to visiting family and other activities related to graduation.

For more information or to donate to the event, contact Kim Donahue for donations at 209-996-6921 or to volunteer you can go the Facebook page at Oakdale Sober Grad Night.
