Additionally, the school held a Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten accomplishment ceremony on June 2.

The students led the flag salute, followed by their singing “Grand Old Flag.” The teacher Melissa Holcomb welcomed everyone and recited the poem “Everything I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten” by Robert Fulghum. She also said a few kind words about each student and presented them with a certificate. After she spoke about each child, the student’s parents stood and also said a few words about their child and why they were proud of them. The children who received their certificates were: Bryce Anderson, Charlee Birdsong, Maya Camara, Holly Conde, Maddy Dickens, Nicholas Gonzales, Joshua Maceira, Tristan McCarthy, and Tristan Voortman.

The event ended with the students singing “This Little Light of Mine.” After the ceremony they returned to the classroom for cookies and punch. They also presented Holcomb with a handmade quilt made by Heather Voortman where each square was personalized by each student.
