County Offers Come Back Kids Program
Stan Co Office of Ed

If you have found that not having your high school diploma has been stopping you from getting a job or attending college, Stanislaus Alternative Charter School, otherwise known as “Come Back Kids” was designed for you. The Stanislaus County Office of Education Come Back Kids School offers a rigorous high school academic program that is flexible, customized, and focused on the areas you need to help you successfully earn your high school diploma.

The school is for adults 18 and older and is an independent study/online school. We give you credit for high school courses you have already successfully completed, and make a plan for you to complete what is needed to earn your high school diploma.

Students meet with a teacher once a week and complete all the required coursework online. Our individualized learning plans offer a mix of online course work, face to face instruction, and career readiness seminars and presentations.

Students work at their pace and have opportunities for internships, apprenticeship programs, and job placement though community partnerships. Career-readiness seminars open to students include: interview technique, résumé building, creating a portfolio, presenters from business industry, industry tours, and college tours.

If you are 18 or older and have been dreaming of earning that high school diploma you never received, this free, public and accredited charter high school is for you.

Our goal is to help you earn your high school diploma and also build up your skills in the areas that will help you find a job, secure a promotion or continue your education in a college or trade school program if that’s your goal.

The first step in enrollment is to attend an orientation meeting. There will be an orientation meeting for Come Back Kids in Oakdale on Wednesday, June 8 at 6 p.m. The orientation meeting will be held at 1040 Wakefield Drive at the Stanislaus County Office of Education building.

No reservation is needed to attend the orientation meeting. All you need to do is come and be prepared to listen. If you are interested in making an appointment to register for Come Back Kids, we will make registration appointments at the conclusion of the orientation meeting.
