Another Impressive Start For Oakdale FFA Teams

Oakdale High School Future Farmers of America, had an outstanding evening last week as they were acknowledged at the Stanislaus/Tuolumne Sectional Opening and Closing Contest. The event was hosted Tuesday, Oct. 13 at Gregori High School in Modesto.

According to the FFA Manual: “Official FFA ceremonies are a source of pride, identity and tradition among FFA members and chapters. Ceremonies emphasize the purpose of meetings, the duties of officers and the significance of recognition given to individuals.”

Participants of the ceremonies must memorize, rehearse and conduct their performance exhibiting dignity and pride.

The Freshman/Novice Team earned 1st and 2nd place with 4 outstanding officers. The Open Teams placed 1st and 3rd with three outstanding officers and the Advanced Officer Team placed 1st with two outstanding officers.

The following students earned honors in the following categories:

First Place Freshman Team: Daytona McGinnis, McKenna Dyson, Anna Sisco, Eden Cassinetto (Outstanding Treasurer), Billy Gonzales and Cierra Polhemus (Outstanding Sentinel).

Second Place Freshman Team Members: Kylea Dunnagan, Blake Morgan, Emma Fallentine (Outstanding Secretary), Augusta O’Ferrell, Morgan Bairos (Outstanding Reporter) and Kyelle Underwood.

First Place Open Team members: Tate Borba, Emma Wright (Outstanding Vice President), Sadie Hensley, Hope Kindred (Outstanding Treasurer), Ty Jones and Matthew Gonzales.

Third Place Open Team Members: Natalie Thompson, Nicole Mendonca, Marnelle Salie, Katie Serpa, Race McGinnis (Outstanding Reporter) and Kaleena Smith.

First Place Advanced Officer Team: Madison Morgan, Kevin Snyder (Outstanding Vice President), Donna Hicks (Outstanding Secretary), Sophia Fifer, Liza Marsella and Clay Verdegaal.
