The California Highway Patrol has taken over the investigation into a nighttime pursuit and crash east of Oakdale.

The incident originally began on Wednesday night, April 10 when Oakdale Police officers attempted to stop a reckless driver observed on F Street at Maag Avenue.

According to police, the driver fled the scene eastbound at high speed and officers terminated the pursuit after just a short distance, stopping at Stearns Road due to the suspect’s reckless driving and high speed.

Just a short time later on Wednesday evening, authorities were notified that the vehicle had crashed into a home at the corner of Highway 108 and Dillwood Road. No one in the home was reported to be injured but the female driver of the vehicle was arrested and then taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Both Oakdale Police and CHP units were on the scene of the Dillwood crash and, as that location is out of the city limits, the incident was taken over by the California Highway Patrol.
