South First Avenue in Oakdale, a major route in the downtown area, is closed for construction. The closure, which began on Thursday, Oct. 1, will send drivers on a detour down South Third and around the closure to Church Street. South First is closed between F and G streets and the work is scheduled to last through Dec. 15. During the rehabilitation/construction project, the location will be closed to through traffic.
